WALGA’s biennial Emergency Management (EM) Survey
WALGA’s 2023 Emergency Management Survey closed in December 2023.The survey results are currently being collated and updates on the results will be provided in the coming months.
A total of 102 Local Governments responded, meeting WALGA’s target of 75 percent. This is an excellent effort by so many in the industry and we would like to thank all those who were involved. Your input is crucial to guide WALGA’s advocacy on key emergency management issues, such as resources for emergency management, the Local Government Grants Scheme (LGGS) and the Consolidated Emergency Services legislation currently under development by the State Government.
The 2023 survey results will support advocacy on WALGA’s 2024-25 State Budget Submission, including the key issues of adequate resourcing for Local Government Emergency Management, increased support for volunteer Bush Fire Brigades (BFB) and State Emergency Service (SES) through the Local Government Grants Scheme (LGGS), and ensuring matters important to Local Governments are considered in the development of the Consolidated Emergency Services Legislation.
The 2023 survey results will also inform WALGA’s advocacy in the lead-up to the 2025 State Government election.
