“The chance to meet other Mayors and Presidents from across the State and neighbouring Councils was most valuable.” – Course attendee
Last week, WALGA Training delivered ‘The Role of Mayors and Presidents’ training to 29 Elected Members.
This course explores the role of Mayors and Presidents and the many attributes, characteristics and qualities required to be a purposeful leader that contributes to the short and long-term well-being of the community.
Attendees learnt more about using effective communication styles, presiding at meetings, and the importance of mentoring other Elected Members.
The day also provided an opportunity for Mayors and Presidents to network and work collaboratively, exchanging their ideas and experiences.
Thank you to trainer Mark Chester for facilitating an amazing day and sharing his extensive knowledge with the Mayors and Presidents in attendance.
The next Role of Mayors and Presidents training course will take place in July 2024.
