The Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) will provide a virtual round-table discussion session regarding climate and sustainability in Local Government.
In this session exclusively for Local Government entities, the AASB staff will provide a brief overview of their exposure draft for disclosure of climate-related risks and opportunities in financial statements and provide an opportunity for Councils to provide feedback on these proposals.
The scope and timing for Councils will be determined by the relevant State / Territory Office of Local Government, however, this session will cover the content of the proposed disclosures in the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards.
This meeting will take place on Thursday 29 February.
