Pest Bird Portal Information / Resources Page

There are two species of introduced corellas that inhabit the Perth metropolitan area, the little corella and the eastern long-billed corella.  These corellas have been identified as having a negative impact on biodiversity in the Perth metropolitan area by the Department of Parks and Wildlife.

Local communities are impacted by these corellas through noise issues and amenity loss, as well as financial costs to Councils, businesses and residents from infrastructure damage.

The Pest Bird Portal was created as part of a larger pest bird initiative which is aimed at fostering a coordinated approach to control introduced corella numbers in the Perth metropolitan area and surrounds.

The aim of this portal is to provide Local Governments and other government agencies with information about pest birds in WA.
If there are resources that your Local Government has produced that would be useful to other Local Governments please feel free to send them to environment@walga.asn.au for inclusion on the portal.
