The WALGA Salary and Workforce Survey is available through a subscription which provides Local Governments access to an online portal and PDF report providing comprehensive data and insights for Local Governments in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
The 2021/22 survey is now open and closes on Tuesday, 12 October 2021.
Enhancements to the 2021/22 Salary and Workforce Survey report include:
- comprehensive survey of Local Government salaries, benefits, workforce profile, enterprise bargaining and more
- secure online survey form
- enter salary data for a wide range of Local Government positions. You can enter as few, or as many, positions as you want
- comprehensive workforce profile and metrics
- new questions on employment costs, super policy, FDV leave, new hire employee turnover, and managing COVID-19 in the workplace
- new user filters to drill down results by organisation size and/or region
- the development of a position description library
Other features of the WALGA Salary and Workforce Survey include:
- a unique online dashboard view for each Local Government with a range of remuneration, workforce, HR and management metrics
- filters to view salaries for comparable roles
- a remuneration calculator to use in recruitment and human resource strategy development

- the ability to compare your Local Government with industry trends and benchmarks

For WALGA Employee Relations subscribers, it you participate in the survey you will receive full access to the portal with customised benchmarking and salary searching capabilities, at no additional cost.
If you don't participate in the survey, there is a cost to access the survey data.

If you are not currently a subscriber of the WALGA Employee Relations service and you wish to participate in the survey, you will be requried to pay a fee as provided below. This will give you full access to the portal and customised benchmarking and salary searching capabilities.
If you don't participate in the survey but want access to the results, you will also be required to pay a fee and your access to the results will be more limited.

Privacy and Security
Salary One ensures the security, integrity and privacy of information submitted to and displayed in the portal. All access is subject to stringent login authentication and data encryption technology. Apart from the salary search, all data is aggregated and mostly shown as percentile ranges.
When will the survey results be available?
The survey report, portal dashboards and other resources will be published in early February 2022. Only Local Governments that participate in the survey will have full access to the portal and survey results.
Can more than one person complete the survey form?
Yes. Your Local Government can have up to four portal users, any of whom can log-in and complete sections of the survey.
