Expressions of Interest Open for Climate Alliance Program

Expressions of interest are sought from groupings of Local Governments to apply for funding as part of the Regional Climate Alliance Program, an initiative from the Western Australian Climate Policy (2020) that was launched on Monday, 10 May. Two pilot Climate Alliances will be selected and will have access to up to $210,000 each financial year between 2021-23 to employ Regional Climate Alliance Coordinators and undertake climate change adaptation and mitigation projects.

The Program was launched by Hon. Amber-Jade Sanderson, Minister for Environment; Climate Action; Commerce, and was featured on GWN7 News on Monday, 10 May. To watch the news item, click here.

Seeking Officers for Climate Risk Training

WALGA is seeking 12 metropolitan Local Government Officers to participate in a climate change risk pilot training workshop on Thursday, 17 June.

Urban Canopy Grant Program Recipients Announced

WALGA, in partnership with the Water Corporation, are pleased to announce the successful grant recipients, with 14 Local Governments awarded funding to plant more than 2,400 trees by 2022. A second grant round  is now open. Photo Credit: WALGA
