Lockdown for Perth and Peel Regions to Lift at 12:01am Tuesday, 27 April
|
|
The Premier has announced that the current lockdown across Perth and Peel regions in WA will lift at midnight tonight.
|
|
These regions will enter a further four-day phase of transitional restrictions, scheduled to end at 12:01am on Saturday, 1 May.
The post lockdown transitional measures for the Perth and Peel regions include:
- Everyone over 12 years must continue to wear a mask in public and while at work, unless exempt or for outdoor vigorous exercise
- 20-person limit in all homes and private indoor and outdoor gatherings
- All business and venues can re-open, except for the casino, nightclubs, gyms and fitness clubs
- Four square metre capacity rule and 20 patron limit applied at other public venues including
- recreation centres, outdoor playgrounds, museums, and swimming pools
- beauty salons, hairdressers and barbers
- places of worship
- entertainment venues
- cafes, restaurants, bars and pubs, for which only seated service is allowed
- Weddings and funerals can proceed with up to 100 guests with an exemption and a COVID-Event plan in place
- Professional and community sports, including training can recommence, however no spectators permitted
- Visits to aged care and disability care facilities restricted to compassionate grounds and advocates
- Elective surgery to proceed for select categories only
- Travel from Perth and Peel regions to other parts of WA is permitted, however people leaving the region must wear a mask at all times when in other regions.
Schools, childcare centres and TAFE facilities can resume, however Universities will be permitted online learning only. Specific exemptions to mask requirements are applied in the teaching environment.
The four square metre capacity rule does not apply to the office environment or on public transport.
Use of contact registers remains a requirement for venue operators and individuals, using the SafeWA app or the contact register available.
The WALGA building will be closed this week, however all staff will be working from home and will continue to provide members with assistance and support. LGIS will also have officers available to support members as required.
